Grace Zoller, took the honors for the “Most Creative” hat.In the run up to the Shepherd Center of Chesterfield’s Senior Idol contest, volunteers from the center held another fund raiser; hosting a ladies tea party. “Hats” was the theme for the party. Many of the ladies came prepared to be judged for their hats. Each were judged in four categories; Most Beautiful, Most Zany, Most Creative and Most Shabby Chic. After finger sandwiches, tea cakes and breads, dessert cakes and several pots of tea served by the gentlemen from the Handyman program of the center and the youth group of Grace Lutheran Church, the winners were announced.
Seven-year-old Grace Zoller took the prize for the Most Creative. The Most Beautiful Hat was worn by Cindy McNally. Cindy Timberman was wearing the Most Shabby Chic and Frankie Smith, with a stuff skunk on top of her head, took the Most Zany honors.
Frankie Smith wearing the “Most Zany” hat. Becky Brock, chairman of the Hospitality Committee for the Shepherd Center organized the tea. Scott Fisher served as emcee. The ladies had an enjoyable time spending the afternoon with friends. Several door prizes were given away, as well as a raffle for an original watercolor. Each of the tables had a hostess that decorated the table with her favorite tea pots, cups, plates and centerpieces.
The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield’s next event will be the Second Annual Senior Idol contest. Scheduled Friday, May 18, at 7 p.m., at the Victory Tabernacle Church of God, located at 11700 Genito Rd.




AIL will present a summer session at Chester Baptist Church starting June 27th.
